New York was once known as a strong Baptist state, leading the way in Christian education and home missions, and playing a pivotal role in the Baptist Home Missions Society’s formation in 1832. Their motto from the beginning was “North America For Christ.” Today, the situation is much different. We believe God wants to establish solid New Testament churches that will be re-establish New York as a strong, Baptist, missions-minded state.
The Hudson Baptist Association is located in upstate New York, sharing its eastern border with Vermont and Massachusetts. The association itself stretches approximately 100 miles to the north and 100 miles south of Albany, the capital of the state which is two and a half hours north of New York City. The association covers 12 counties with a total population of 1.4 million people. An estimated 50% of those people claim no church affiliation.
The associational office is housed at the Northeast Campus of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary located between the state capital of Albany and the city of Schenectady.
